ASF Fitness

In addition to self defence courses and martial arts training, we also offer a martial arts-based fitness class. This differs from our regular martial arts class as it offers participants the chance to keep fit and get the heartbeat going, without learning a lot of the techniques involved, or competing for a belt. However, you will be learning to maintain the same sort of level of fitness as those who practice Jindokai martial arts.

Classes run on Friday evenings from 7.15 till 8.15 at Brackenbury Sports Centre Felixstowe.

Cost: Adults £6 Children (aged 12-17) £5
(if you attend the martial arts class beforehand then the fitness class is only £1)

What to Expect

The martial arts-based fitness classes in Felixstowe are all about having fun, whether you are there for weight loss or general fitness, doing push ups, running or stretching.

The sort of things you’ll be doing in the class include:

  • Combinations of kicks, punches, elbows and knees
  • Pair work that may include strike pads, depending on numbers

We do understand that everybody is different and that some people are more flexible or fitter than others, therefore all we ask is that you try your best. We want you to do what you are able to and enjoy the classes – if for whatever reason you are not happy about something in the class, please feel free to talk to us.

What to Wear

  • We suggest that you wear loose fitting clothes that allow you to move easily as we want you to feel comfortable while training.
  • Footwear needs to be comfortable as we will be training on a wooden floor, therefore we would suggest that you wear trainers.
  • Please DO NOT wear trainers that do not fit properly or clothing that is either too tight or too long which may cause injury or tripping hazards.
  • Please ensure that you remove all jewellery including watches, bracelets, etc before starting a class, to prevent injury to yourself and others.
